GPOYW: Scar update!
It’s been five months since THE ACCIDENT, and I’m feeling pretty great.
Also, here’s a picture of my scar right after I got all the bandages and everything off, for comparison.

Time for another Arm Update! It’s been two weeks since I got my cast off.
My goals for this last two week period:
-Regain more strength in my fingers (I have)
-Pull my hair back on my own (I can! I didn’t think I would be able to do this, but on Sunday of this week I could! It’s not easy, but I can do iiiiit!!!!)
-Bend my arm all the way (Nope.)
I started physical therapy this week. I really like my therapist and I noticed a difference in my range of motion after the very first session. My scar is healing well. It’s pretty intense, but I’m okay with that. I’m actually strangely proud of it. I will post a new picture of it sometime soon.
Tomorrow it will have been one month exactly since I broke my arm, and, all things considered, I’m kind of amazed that only a month after such a traumatic injury I’m out of the cast and bending and twisting and going back to being a regular, independent human being.
Right now I’m feeling pretty good.
My goals for the next two weeks are to:
-Continue building strength in my fingers and work on my lower hand
-Touch my left shoulder with my left hand
-Return to work at the library! (Easy… but still a goal.)
Two Weeks - Grizzly Bear
This is my theme song for my recovery. It’s really easy to get frustrated and depressed with being so incapacitated, so I’m setting all my goals two weeks at a time.
A little over two weeks ago I was sleeping off the anesthesia after six and a half hours of surgery.
Yesterday I got my cast off, Today I’m already feeling improvement as far as finger movement goes, (at least with typing.)
Two weeks from now I hope to have regained more strength in my hand, be able to pull my hair back by myself, and bend my arm all the way.
(I forgot to tell you guys there’s quite a bit of nerve damage going on, so my hand is all effed up.)
So that’s my plan.
